ANOTHER WEEK, ANOTHER MAJOR WIN FOR CLEATED FOOTWEAR
Posted on June 25 2019
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., June 24, 2019 – Just a week after the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach was won by a player wearing footwear featuring replaceable cleat technology, another major for cleated footwear was claimed by the winner of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Hazeltine National Golf Course. She was wearing Nike® Vapor React shoes featuring Champ® Pivix cleats.
“Not only have our cleats been on the feet of major championship winners on consecutive weeks but we are two for two in PGA Championships this year,” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for PrideSports®. “We say it all the time… winners wear cleats. With the British Open on the horizon, we are looking at our own grand slam of victories in the majors this year.”
On the European Tour, the winner of the BMW International Open wore Callaway® Balboa TRX shoes with Champ Pivix cleats. Cleats were on the footwear of the winner of the PGA Tour Champions American Family Insurance Championship who was wearing Footjoy® Tour-S shoes with Softspikes® Cyclone cleats.
Replacement Softspikes® and Champ® cleats can be purchased in the golf section of most large retailers, sporting goods stores, golf specialty and golf course pro shops across the country. Cleats can also be purchased online from any of these locations, your favorite online store or directly from www.golfspikes.com.
