CLEATED FOOTWEAR SWEEPS FINAL FOUR OF WGC-DELL TECHNOLOGIES MATCH PLAY

BRENTWOOD, Tenn., April 1, 2019 – While there is no clear frontrunner for the NCAA’s upcoming Final Four, there was definitely a clear winner in this past weekend’s WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play championship in Austin, Texas. All four of the finalists chose footwear with replaceable cleats over spikeless/tennis shoes with the winner wearing FootJoy Tour-S golf shoes featuring Champ Pivix cleats.

“It was another winning week for players wearing cleated footwear,” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for PrideSports. “Not only were all of the final four players in the WGC match play event wearing cleats but we had winners on several other tours as well.”

At the PGA TOUR’s Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship, the winner captured a one-stroke victory wearing Asics Gel Ace Master shoes with Champ Stinger golf cleats. He was joined by 20 of the top 26 finishers in choosing footwear with cleats. The FootJoy Tour-S with Champ Pivix cleats were also on the feet of the Web.com Tour’s Savannah Golf Championship winner, while the LPGA Tour’s Kia Classic winner was in Asics Gel Ace Tour Lady Boa shoes with Softspikes Stealth cleats.

The durable Pivix cleats worn by the WGC match play champion feature Champ’s patented “C” wear indicator which turns solid when spikes need to be replaced. The spring flex rotation grip provides the ultimate traction during the swing, allowing for an extremely stable yet comfortable platform system.

Replacement Softspikes and Champ cleats can be purchased in the golf section of most large retailers, sporting goods stores, golf specialty and golf course pro shops across the country. Cleats can also be purchased online from any of these locations, your favorite online store or directly from www.golfspikes.com.

PrideSports is the undisputed leader in the golf cleat segment with its CHAMP® and Softspikes® brands. The company recommends golfers change their cleats every six to eight months – or even more frequently based on use – to ensure golfers get the maximum performance out of their footwear.

CHAMP’s Helix, Zarma Tour and Stinger cleats, as well as Softspikes’ Pivix, Pulsar, Silver Tornado and Stealth cleats, dominate the OEM and secondary market in terms of performance and sales. More information can be found at www.champspikes.com and www.softspikes.com.
