VALSPAR CHAMPIONSHIP WINNER GOES BACK-TO-BACK IN CLEATED GOLF SHOES
Posted on March 27 2019
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., March 25, 2019 – For the first time in its 19-year history, the PGA TOUR’s Valspar Championship had a back-to-back winner as the world’s number eleven ranked golfer survived tough conditions for a one-stroke victory. He was wearing Nike React Vapor 2 golf shoes featuring Softspikes Silver Tornado cleats.
“The windy conditions made it tough on the field at Innisbrook… and also confirmed the importance of wearing footwear and cleats that help keep golfers stable and balanced,” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for PrideSports. “Once again, our mantra of ‘Winners Wear Cleats’ was proven true across all of the major tours over the weekend.”
At the Valspar Championship, 20 of the top 24 players chose to wear footwear featuring replaceable cleats over spikeless/tennis shoes. Other victories for players wearing cleats included: European Tour’s Maybank Championship (Footjoy Icon with Champ Scorpion Stinger cleats); LPGA’s Bank of Hope Founders Cup (Nike Vapor Pro Boa with Champ Pivix cleats); and the Web.com’s Chitimacha Louisiana Open (Nike Tour Premiere with Champ Zarma Tour cleats).
The winning Silver Tornado cleats feature a counter-rotational design that provides the best level for balance and stability. Replacement Softspikes and Champ cleats can be purchased in the golf section of most large retailers, sporting goods stores, golf specialty and golf course pro shops across the country. Cleats can also be purchased online from any of these locations, your favorite online store or directly from www.golfspikes.com.
